ordering trainers from america online....any tips?
hi guys
i want to order a pair of trainers (not available in uk) from america, now the website does offer international delivery. but i dont want to be stung by any taxes etc...
how much would i be expected to pay in taxes?
is there a cheaper way getting stuff from abroad...is there like a 'middle-man' website...or something..

If the value (declared to customs) exceeds £25 then you'll have to pay VAT. (Unless their childrens' size I think) The post office will do it for you (no choice) and you have to stump up an extra £5 for the privelage. Not sure about other carriers.
This was from a couple of years ago when I ordered some special t-shirts from the states that were unavailable in the EU. The exact numbers may have changed.

I would email them and ask if vat/customs import duty is included and if not how much it will be. Have you tried Amazon.com (US Site) for the trainers as they include the import tax/VAT in the delivery charge (well they did for me when I ordered a watch from the US that was £70 - taxes etc worked out at £15)
