Re: Postumus Post-WWII Medal

The WAR MEDAL was awarded to anyone during world war 2 who had seen 28 days of service or died within the conflict. The MEMORIAL MEDAL was also given to the first next of kin for anyone killed during WW2

I think though you'll find that there isn't a medal specifically for conflicts post WW2 unlike America which has the Purple Heart for injured or those killed in the line of duty

Thanks for that Kymmy.

I've been asked by the other half's dad to try and find out what it's called and how you can apply for one. I believe that the next of kin can apply for it.

Re: Postumus Post-WWII Medal

For conflicts since Queen Elizabeth II came to the throne, which is probably most of the post WWII stuff, it has just been announced that there will be the Elizabeth Cross, which would be granted to next of kin. Is that the one?

There's a new one: The Elizabeth Cross

It will be available to the relatives of all those killed in conflicts since the end of World War II.
