What do you do when you are a bit bored and lonely?
I come on forums, look around, post a bit, read a lot, and then go get a bag of Walkers cheese and onion crisps and a glass of what evers in the fridge!
What do you do?
(Oh and spell words wrong!)

Bored now.. Stuck at work waiting for a machine I've just reinstalled to finish installing updates so I can restart it and get it to at least start on installing the 30 odd gig of software we support on the lab machines, and hopefully it'll be finished by tommorrow (thankfully the installations are automated so I just need to start the list).

Stuart, why not slipstream the updates onto a disc so it installs with the software? or create offline image media of the final install, so all a recovery would entail is restore the image and do any updates since the image was created?

Not often lonely with partner and two dogs who insist on wanting to know everything you do!!!
But when I do feel like some time out (or am forced into it as there's nothing else to do) then most times it's either go to bed with a nice book and glass of wine, watch a film or two on the laptop, play a computer game or go on one of my many ham radios and find someone to chat to

Plot the overthrow of governments and dictatorships. And I play solitaire.

Do you still put on a leotard and grapple similarly clad sweaty men Russ?
Personally I read, play Red Alert 3, Bioshock or C&C3 or surf the net..

I don't know any wrestlers who wear leotards but if that image in your mind makes you feel comfortable then I'm cool with that. But no, I mainly referee now, only westling occasionally.

As for slipstreaming updates, I don't maintain our windows install, so I can only make suggestions. I have suggested slipstreaing (and other methods of automating updates) but have got no response.
As for including the software in the ghost image, I have already tried this. Unfortunately for the Adobe apps (adobe make around half the apps I am personally responsible for) this trips the anti-piracy protection.

Re: What do you do when you are abit bored and lonely?
I read (or re-read) books (I have about 1000 paperback and hardbacks, ever increasing), watch stuff I have recorded on V+ and never get round to, walk the dog, catch up on work, mess about on CF, drink wine/whisky/cognac, help my son/daughter with whatever work/problems they have, tidy up/iron/wash up/etc, talk to people on the phone/Skype (if they are in Oz/NZ), read newspapers/magazines......

Yup - got all his books; re-read them after a couple of years, and they still make me laugh out loud.
