Probably need to be a bit more specific and possibly the reasons such as kite surfing or whatever.

A really great part of the island is the resort of Maspalomas in the south east, it has beautiful beaches and sand dunes stretching for miles, and the fact its on the south east coast your not exposed to those rather stiff westerlies.
I went here in April of 02 with the family and we had great weather, to be honest the breeze was quite welcome due to the highish temps, would definitely go again.

Check out www.wunderground.com The best weather site I have known. You can monitor the winds peed now (currently 41km/h seems a bit high) but you can also select some dates and check back over the previous years.

I have been to http://www.costa-mogan.com/places/taurito.php and it was windy on the coast. However that made the heat more acceptable.
