my bro was caught by one of these on ebay but ebay refunded the money. He bought was he thought was a mobile phone and the seller tried saying what he actually bought was a link to a site where he could then buy the phone from.

Sadly it's a common scam on ebay.
Luckily, when I was scammed a few years back (I bought a hdd from someone and never received it) ebay refunded the money after a month or so.

Apart fron the $5k award, the most satisfying part was when JJ told the scammer she would be informing the IRS to investigate their e bay account.
