Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 3
I had a good day with my dad today Shopping and went out for dinner. It culminated with me helping to polish his new car.
I probably muffed it up but he didn't say anything
It was a nice day anyway.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 3
Isn't it nice doing things together with family, Thomas. Reading that makes me miss my Dad. *sniff*
Just picked up our new(ish) car. Printed out Joglynne's and Russ's posts for Mrs P to see.
And looking back to Sunday's wedding anniversary brunch - croissants with cream cheese and smoked salmon, washed down with champagne. Got the day off to a great start.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 3
Just got back from a lecture by Germaine Greer at a local Uni - very thought-provoking, and also very amusing.

Saw some of my daughters teachers for year 10 options and was delighted at the lovely comments on how diligent she is, how she copes with disruptive classes and what a joy she is to teach.

My son is being referred to a clinic to see an occupational therapist and their speech/language team, without me being made to feel like an idiot. Hopefully he will get the help he needs nice and early and be caught up before he starts school.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 3
My sister & hubby went to their sons school on on Tuesday, he had a very glowing report, he's top at everything.
I was talking to my bro in-law about it, and he said reading to him from a early age helped, but his big sister gets credit, as she reads to him and let him read to her all the time.

It works too. I get Peter to read to me every night before he goes to bed Still a while before I can get him to read Stephen King mind, but he is very good...

That's impressively big.
