Car Insurance Questions

Do all car insurance companies do 'any driver' insurance?

Do you have to be a certain age to be able to take out this sort of insurance policy out?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of an 'any driver' policy?

Thanks

Re: Car Insurance Questions

As far as I know, the answer to the first question is yes......but however conditions will apply!

Say if you had a 17 year old, newly passed, or a man under 25, or a person with heavy points, you may get a any driver policy, but the load would be very high(price you have to pay)

Will check for other points soon, tea is ready!!!

Re: Car Insurance Questions

'Any driver' policies tend to be aimed at businesses and commerce and are unlikely to be offered by mainstream companies.

It's possible to have 'any driver' policies with no ages restriction but they are mind-blowingly expensive, you're talking around the £4 to £5 grand mark and possibly more because what the insurance companies are saying is "you take the worst, most at-risk driver you can find, put him behind that wheel, and we'll cover them".

Start throwing in conditions such as "any driver 25+" and then it comes down, but not by much.

Re: Car Insurance Questions

The type of car (age / size / power and value) will also affect it. Most insurers will see a big risk as any driver means not only people who may not be as familiar with the vehicle, but also more use of the vehicle compared to a car with just a policy holders.

Inevitably there will be high excess and other restrictions.

If you are looking to add your son or daughter to your policy forget about it, the insurance companies are clamping down on parents insuring cars then adding their siblings to drive or adding a driver to their policy. They have got wise to parents buying a car then adding thier siblings to the policy.
