Employment contract question

Hi all

I'm going into a staff meeting at 5.30 and wanted to go armed with information. Our hours in my 2nd job have been cut (not for me, but my colleagues). It states in our contracts that you are employed to work "so many" hours. Therefore, if they reduce them without consultation or notice - are they breaking the contract of employment?

Any help is appreciated

afaik, they can change them but they need to give notice of 4 weeks, or they can change them immediately and pay the usual amount for 4 weeks.
