I have a Korg Kaossilator - and I can't put the darn thing down. Then I saw these. I can't tell if they are straight forward in an 808 type of manner or if there is a bit more to it.

I love these electronic instruments.
Looks like that Electribe would be great for playing out live.
I wish I could expand my studio which is currently just my keyboard and mixer at the moment with software. It's just all this type of hardware costs so much !

Re: Does any of you own an Electribe MX?
Must admit I was torn on the Kaossilator when I saw it at Firebox, they are like £150 +P&P, but I got one from an Amazon Marketplace for £129 + £4P&P, don't regret it at all. If you can muster £130, get one.
You have a keyboard, so I assume you can play a note? I can't. So it is either grab a cheap Synth and whack into the PC and take lessons or one of these. Really wish I could play a keyboard, that would be superb, love to see me on a keyboard, my left hand copies my right, only slower LOL.
I think an Electribe will be on the cards come payday. I will sell it to you for £200 if I can't fathom it

Depending on the type of music you produce, I find that often it is a matter of just experimenting.
I currently can't afford a whole load of external synths, samplers, etc so use Propellorheads Reason and some VST's in Ableton.
It's good fun.

Is that the 808/909 and Basslines? Found it hard work, just from trying to control it with Mouse/Keyboard - would love to have all that in Hardware wired up in front of me.

Lets get this straight, what I produce (produce??) I doubt is counted as music LOL. But the experiment side is what I am hoping for with that Electribe, in that I don't need a degree in music, just some random pressing and twirling and a bit of imagination and patience.
It IS really good fun, the Kaossilator is just brilliant, stick some headphones in and away you go. I am sure it is limited if you are Liam Howlett, but for the tone deaf it is great.

Stuff like this impresses the hell out of me, when he is doing two things at the same!

Comments - You might get as lucky as I did and pick one up cheap. Mine was in a 2nd hand shop with a sign saying "mixer" on it ,and cost £150.00 - that is Lucky!

This box of tricks will let you play in a piece played on guitar either pre-recorded or live and sample it, add effects to it, build on it, basically really mess around with the sound and come up with some cool creative sounds.
