Anyone good with types of mental illness or strange behaviour?
If you have an individual who seems to seek controversy, or will start arguments all the time, is that a known condition?
If a group of people are at a table talking and one of them starts an argument, sometimes with a totally random or stupid comment, but then sits back and seems to take something from everyone arguing, or the fact they started it, but kinda seems reluctant or unwilling to participate in it even though they are asked what they think, or to explain what they just said, a sort of sly ignorance.
In that example, are they just an ass, an attention seeker, wierdo or is there a medical condition that can explain it?
I thought there was, I can't find anything, but I don't really know what to search for. It's hard to explain really, I am hoping someone knows what I am getting at.

Sounds like you're describing a troll... is your "table conversation" actually an online one?

Sounds like you're discussing one or two of the people that post here
Seriously though, I don't think this is a mental condition as such - you're just describing the kind of trouble seeking, self opinionated, prat, that you're probably best not being mates with if you fancy a quiet (or even relaxing, good fun, enjoyable) night out.

No. It's not anyone that posts here either. But is "Trolling" not a condition of some kind? Online it is a Troll, in the real world......some other condition. But done to achieve the same purpose. I was sure there was something that describes this behaviour.
Like someone said above, maybe they are just a pillock?

It's just someone I have observed from a distance, I think that might be why I am the only one that noticed it.

Definately some one who wants to be the center of attention and cause trouble!
I kind of like that sort of folk on forums though, gives the place a bit of life!!!
I rise to the bait at times, or just sit back and enjoy the show.
Maybe thats the game your friend is playing????

A politer, milder version is 'devil's advocate'
I find myself drawn to that occasionally just to liven things up a bit..
