clothing alterations
I don't know much about this sort of thing but can clothing alteration companies make an XL tshirt in to just an L without it looking like alterations have been made? Someone bought me a really good Quicksilver top but it's too big.

cant you just exchange it [if you have receipt ] i wouldn't hold out much hope of altering it.

Re: clothing alterations
I think it would be awkward but do-able. Bear in mind the neck, body and sleeves would all need altering. Whether you will find someone to do it is another story, might be cheaper to buy another one

To be honest it would just be the sleeves, they come to about an inch past my elbows. The overall length could do with shortening a bit too but the thing with the sleeves is on the end of the left one is a small Quicksilver logo so unless the remove it and put it back on, it's not going to simply be turning them up.

Even if you find 'a tailor who can' don't be in too much of a hurry to have the t-shirt altered yet . With the amount of exercise you are planning even a large size may be too big soon.

Re: clothing alterations
By the time it is washed a couple of times it will have got wider in the chest, slightly shorter in the arms and much shorter in the body length (all this without the use of a tumble dryer or a tailor)

Boil wash then 30 minutes in a tumble dryer with do the trick. I did it with some jumpers that were to big for me.
