nanny state?
Why is it that VMs adult OD services are so censorious? The material is so censored that you feel ripped off if you have a "boys evening" when the wives are out!!
I know it has more to do with Offcom than VM, but these days you see far more explicit material on Fiver (21st century girl guide to sex which had penetration) or Ch 4 (the excellent Sex Education Show which my 14 year old was invited to watch when we realised just how informative it was!).
So come on Virgin Media, make representations on our behalf, sometimes we grown ups like to watch a bit of adult entertainment & feel we are getting our money's worth!!

Yes! And while it's on don't forget to wear your watch on the other wrist if you need to check the time.

Re: nanny state?
Hi
Relevant provisions of the Ofcom Broadcasting Code
3.13. Rule 1.24: “Premium subscription services and pay per view/night services may broadcast ‘adult sex’ material between 2200 and 0530 provided…there is a mandatory PIN protection system, or its equivalent, in place so to restrict access solely to those authorised to view, and that there are measures in place to ensure the subscriber is an adultâ€.
3.14. Rule 2.1: “Generally accepted standards must be applied to the contents of television and radio services so as to provide adequate protection for members of the public from the inclusion in such services of harmful and/or offensive material.â€
3.15. Rule 2.3: “In applying generally accepted standards broadcasters must
ensure that material which may cause offence is justified by the context.â€
I believe education programmes are ok under 3.15 rule 2.3 providing it is justified
UTT

We would prefer to watch it on a big screen! And we don't have a streaming setup.

Re: nanny state?
What really gets up my nose is that you can watch some truly vile stuff like Saw or Saw 2, the object of these being to see people inflicting barbaric torture on each other, by simply keying your PIN, but if, heaven forbid, you want to watch people doing NICE things to each other like have sex (the last time I tried sex it WAS quite pleasant!), you get no end of interference. The world has gone mad!!!

Re: nanny state?
Victorian attitudes still linger within The Establishment, and if THEY don't want us to see things THEY are aghast at, we're stuck with THEIR decisons.
Move to mainland Europe and your eyes might pop out!

Re: nanny state?
Graham used to be our resident purveyor of 'adult exotica' and all-round 'adult' rights activist.
If we're thinking about the same Graham that is
