Actually I can't see that much difference between before and after...I suppose one shopping centre is pretty much like another these days.

It does demonstrate the advantage of not being a patron saint. I'd imagine St David, in his saintly way, being a bit peeved about getting a concrete shopping centre named after him.

After years of ridicule from other Saints, who have boulevards, schools and cathedrals in their name, he must have been over the saintly moon to learn that the construction was being knocked down.

.... and then he learns what's going up it's place and what it's to be called..

They demolished many fairly new and prosperous buildings to build this monolith, including the central library... all in the name of shopping for the posh end of the market...
