Protecting Car
Is their any gadget/technology out that you can have to protect your car, like a 24hr security camera that you can put in your car, so you can stop vandalism etc.
I know you can put the car in a garage, but the local one from my house is too far.
Thanks

Re: Protecting Car
You need one of THESE My neighbour has got one he's a Taxi Driver, his car got broke into a few months ago the CCTV was taking images all the time, he took the data box to the local police who looked at the images and recognised the pictures, they went out and arrested the person involved. Crime solved.

That gadget is only good for taxi drivers. Won' be any good if someone damges/scratches your car, as it's 'In-Cab.'

Re: Protecting Car
I'm afraid that aside from posting a burly security guard to stand next to your car your driveway or garage is the next best thing. If you dont have one then like many millions you'll be subjected to mindless vandalism like the rest of us.
If you buy a deterrent that is a bit on the obvious side it'll make your car a target.

Re: Protecting Car
If they see it has CCTV they will probably pull up their jumpers and do an even better job on it..

Re: Protecting Car
Wiring it up to the mains works but tends to end up with you in prison
you can get proximity alarms but i suspect lots would just see that as an additional reason to attack it
if the garage is really to far away is there more well lit /busier street near by that isn't to near a pub park etc

I park on my street, but the problem is that kids play ball games etc and damage peoples cars. When you go and tell their parents, they just deny it, so I need proof.

How is it asking for trouble?
If they damage cars, why should someone else have to end up paying???

Re: Protecting Car
Indeed
So if you knock on a parents door and say 'your kids damaged my car, I have a video'
You may find you have more problems than a damaged wing mirror..
Especially if the recording equipment is not just normal household CCTV

Re: Protecting Car
It's the way the world is unfortunately. You can't even take photos or video of your own kids birthday party in soft ball areas if there are other kids about.

Yes, but there are more "practical" concerns - for example, you would have to comply with the rules of the DPA:
