Re: Fair fa' yer honest sonsie face...
Had haggis for lunch on friday as the works canteen had a burn supper menu.
Love the stuff
Also there is an event on in George Square this evening celebrating Rab's 250th Anniversary.

Re: Fair fa' yer honest sonsie face...
I was visiting a friend in hospital last night. All the patients were reciting Scottish poetry, drinking whisky and eating haggis and neeps....... It was the Burns unit. ( I'll get my coat).

Yep, it's a proper one in a sheep's stomach, tied at each end with strings. Will be consumed this evening with the approved root vegetable accompaniments and washed down with a generous splash of the highland waters.

Re: Fair fa' yer honest sonsie face...
At the risk of having my Scottishness taken away I'm not a huge fan of traditional haggis, I think I will however be sampling some of my local curry houses excellent haggis and black pudding pakora.

Your local Farmfoods has haggis in the freezer if needed and fresh should be in ASDA and Tesco to name but two.

Re: Fair fa' yer honest sonsie face...
I will be going to my local which is having a Burns Night themed dinner to celebrate my birthday this evening.
Haggis, neeps and tatties is the second course

Re: Fair fa' yer honest sonsie face...
We'll be holding our Burns Night supper on Saturday, with cock-a-leekie soup, haggis (bridies for those who boak on haggis), and neeps and tatties.
Some usquebaugh may be supped to toast the wee beastie....

We have in the past, when we've had a veggie friend staying. It's delicious, slightly spicier than the real thing perhaps, but after Mrs T and I had finished eating our meaty one we were very happy to help her with seconds of the veggie one.
