Dashboard Light Has Gone in My Vauxhall

I have a 1999 Vauxhall Astra CD 5 door hatch. The back light on the right hand side of the dash board doesnt work. The left side (under the ref counter ) works fine. The right hand main headlight has gone - the bul has blown and I am replacing it later today. Would the bulb on that side of the dash be connected in some way or would that be a separate bulb thats blown.

Also does anyone know how to replace the bulb on a dashboard for this particular car?

Thanks in advance for any help I get.

Re: Dashboard Light Has Gone in My Vauxhall

Have you tried to find a manual for that car? there are probably online resources or you could probably go down to Halfrauds and browse through their ones

edit...............join the owners club forums and ask them there

Re: Dashboard Light Has Gone in My Vauxhall

Hi,
I have a Frontera. Though it doesn't really matter which make of car we are talking about they are all much the same when it comes to Dash Lighting. Changing bulbs is a real pig of a job. I replaced all mine last year because they had nearly all failed. The makers give no thought to this job at all. When doing it some are worse than others. You have to dismantle so much just to get at a bulb.
The answer of course is L.E.D's which some cars are already using.
George.

I'd leave the bulbs if I were you mate they are a right pain in the back side to change.

Re: Dashboard Light Has Gone in My Vauxhall

It might be worth double-checking the fuses, although realistically I'd suspect a blown fuse would lose a whole bunch of bulbs.
