Can anyone advise me what this is on the underside of a old drop leaf table? Its an old table (not been stored in a shed) always been in a house.... It was my uncles table & he died & now we have it...
I would say it's almost certainly not woodworm. They leave a mass of clearly defined tunnels through the interior of the wood with small holes in the surface where the larvae emerge. I've never seen them cause damage like that.
Is that a depression in the surface. It's not easy to be sure from the pictures.
