Roof rack advice
Have any of you experience of using one of these:
http://www.rackinabag.co.uk/index.html
My other half didn't like driving our previous car and since she does 80% of the mileage (only 4000 a year between us) we now have a Renault campus. It's OK but has very little room in the boot. This looks on paper as if it might be usefull for the couple of times a year we're likely to need to transport luggage. I'd never heard of it before though so I'd prefer to hear some opinions, good or bad, from anybody with first hand experience.

Re: Roof rack advice
The way it's anchored seems very unsafe...

Re: Roof rack advice
It would really worry me as it's sat on the roof skin itself

Re: Roof rack advice
that will send your fuel consumption figures through the roof
and it looks hideously dodgy

Re: Roof rack advice
I would go for a roof rack, or even a roof box.
The later would be more areo-dynamic

Re: Roof rack advice
Thanks for all your opinions. I can't disagree with anything you've said.
Fuel consumption isn't a big consideration since it would only be used for a 30 - 40 mile round trip at most twice a year.
The load being on the roof does concern me. I may have to put the luggage in the back seats and strap the kids to the rack. (Joking - well not both of them anyway )
The lack of any BS or any other safety standard indication also concerns me.
Unless I can physically see one or hear from someone who's got one I won't bother. I've got visions of unwashed laundry flying behind me on the Motorway on the way back from holiday. Not a pretty sight

Re: Roof rack advice
check out a Honda Jazz - I bet you could get your luggage inside & still please your 'other half' re the driving, I used to be able to get my push bike in the back of the one we used to have & it was great round town as well as the motorway ???
We have an Honda Civic atm, and are thinking of going back to the Jazz next time
