Car stereo problem

I have recently bought the panasonic CQ-C1475N radio. When connected initially to my ford fiesta (L-reg) it works fine but when the power is turned off and back on there is no sound unless the speaker connector is disconnected and reconnected. When the old radio is put in there is no problem. Please help

Does it remember stored radio stations and where the CD last was?

Yes it does. You can also tell the radio is sending the audio signal as the bars at the edge go up and down as the people on the radio talk/sing. The radio is working absolutely fine, its just the speaker issue

I would say its gotta be 1 of 2 things, 1. There is a short circuit or other wiring problem somewhere which is cutting out the amp in the stereo for safety or 2. The Unit is simply faulty, I would say it was more likely number 2.
