Re: someones taking the
Remember, kids - one person's jolly jape is someone else's pool of urine to clean up.....

Re: someones taking the
Just to be serious for a bit, I can understand the problems caused by people just urinating anywhere (not nice for other people), but a problem I have often had after a good night out on the beer is simply that when the pubs close, there is no where for someone to take a leak.
I drink where I work (in Greenwich) and if I miss the last train home and can't get a cab for whatever reason, it takes around two hours for me to get home by bus. During that two hours, I pass one 24 hour public toilet (which is actually a "superloo" in Greenwich).
I am not suggesting that councils provide more full size public toilets (although they would be nice), but for Men anyway more outdoor urinals (e.g http://www.urinal.net/trafalgar_outdoor/ ) would be good, if not more superloos.

Let's just be grateful it's only "numbers 1s" that are supposedly legal...

I can't believe we went from Russ making an obvious comment about 'number 2s' to Stuart talking about how he passes one superloo in 2 hours - all sounds very painful to me

That has always been my point, if councils fail to provide adequate or any public conveniences why should the police be allowed to arrest someone. I disagree with peeingin a shop doorways etc, but finding a secluded hedge should not result in arrest.
I found myself on a recent night out that due to no toilets available I had to find a suitable place to relieve myself. It's about time human rights did something useful for once (It would be a first) and stepped in to stop people being fined when thelocal authority is not providing facilities.

Thank you for that post - it put a smile on my face, and cheered up an otherwise mundane day at work.
Have a merry christmas.

They don't arrest you for taking a pee, they either get you on a public order offence or indecent exposure.
I've seen some coppers just give guys a mop and bucket to clean it up if they catch you around the city centre here though

A smile on your face.
Is that because you believe it is OK for local authorities not to provide public toilets 24/7 ?
I believe public toilets should be provided 24/7, what is so funny about such a reasonable demand ?

That is what I am referring to, it seems these days it's the cleaning up they complain about. the problem stems from the local authorities over the years closing many public toilets and the ones they have left are not open 24/7.
How can they fine someone when there is no alternative!

Re: someones taking the
Recycle it!!
We got to Twickers early and were jostled in the crowd;
Planted leeks and dragons, looked for toilets all around.
So many there we couldn't budge -twisted legs and pale:
I'm ashamed we used a bottle that once held bitter ale.
We sympathised with an Englishman
whose team was doomed to fail
So we gave him that old bottle, that once held bitter ale!

Re: someones taking the
Blame the vandals who did for the toilets we used to have provided by the council who tried every way to keep them open.
Now we have steel boxes that look like fortresses which I'm not going to use.
