Hi all,
I need to draft a letter to the NHBC regarding the faults (
Move,
Leak,
Energy Usage) in our house.
Basically we have a shared ownership home and you only get a one year warranty, regardless of the fact that next door a private house (built the same time, same developer etc) but was they are private they get two years from the developer.
We have been advised to try and get another year warranty out of the developer, so we need to write a letter detailing the faults we've had - 4 leaks which involved ceilings being cut out in order to get at the crappy plastic pollyplumb pipes and the more serious one where we had to have our kitchen units pulled out due to water damage, floor dried using a dehumidifier and units replaced - all over the course of 4 months, and now we think we have a problem with the immersion heater.
So - I need to know how to word it. We have most of the correspondence between us and the developer (emails mainly) and photo evidence.
Also - do we send a copy to the developer and NHBC or who.
The warranty technically expires when the developer handed the house over to the shared ownership company - which was sometime in Jan 2008 but the warranty lasts until mid Feb 2009 as we moved in in Feb 2008.
I know it's a big ask! Any ideas then?
Thanks!
Lee
