Thank you - that's the reply I was waiting for.
To you it's revealing (I'm assuming unacceptably so?) to others it won't be.
It's subjective.
The other barmaids don't seem to mind. I'm not saying that means she should just put up and shut up. But her reaction seems very OTT. I'm not suggesting she's "playing the Muslim card" but if she works in this environment, a degree of rationale is required.

It all comes down to what sort of figure you have and how comfortable you are with it as a woman.I did say earlier that I wondered if there were any male bar staff and if what they were required to wear was as revealing too.
I do think that using religion as her excuse was perhaps the wrong way to go..
Perhaps a renegotiation later on about changing the uniform for all the staff to some more flattering and a little less clingy might have been a better tactic in the long run.

Could be an idea. Some barmaids are happy to wear that sort of thing - a girl I know when she ran a pub used to have the motto of "the higher the t**s, the higher the tips".
I stress I'm not saying just because some women are fine with it then they all should but clear there has to be some sort of compromise on all sides.

It is subjective, not just interculturally but intraculturally. But all that really IMO matters is how Feta Lemes feels about it.
The clothes we wear send out messages to people. The message that this dress communiated is not compliant with Feta's personality that she feels is appropraite for a work place.

Which leads us to the question is she appropriate for that environment?

Yup - I work at a University, but it is expected that I wear suit, formal shirt, and tie; can't say I am over the moon about it, but it goes with the job.

What actually matters (from the point of view of whether she is likely to win the case) is whether this is an enforced dress code and whether she was aware of it when she took the job.

Re: Muslim Waitress Sacked for Refusing to Wear Red Dress.
This sort of reminds me when a new company took over the hotel i worked at. Theyt insisted on women wearing skirts and some of our tomboy colleagues felt quite strongly about it, and wrote to higher management to request exemption - which worked.
Not the same i know, as these skirts weren't short, but it reminded me of the uproar
