I`m quite sure this wouldn`t have been his first time driving whilst drunk,just the first time he was caught more likely.

Yep the roadside test is just an indication. Two evidential samples are taken at the station and they are the ones used in any prosecution.

People can still be convicted of being unfit through drink even if they blow under 35 though.

I personally think the levels are a bit high and could be lowered a bit. I'd also like to see some research done on how it affects people the morning after. I've absolutely no sympathy for the ones who get into a car straight from the pub but sometimes the morning after you can feel and appear absolutely fine but still be over the limit.

well I think there are different types of drink drivers...

1. scum - those who don't think they will get caught and habitually don't give a toss.

2. idiots - those who make a 'mistake' - an act of stupidity they will always regret.


I hope at least the message will/can get through to those in the second category.
