Yes its true . Females for ages have had a go at how men deal with colds. But new research shows its actually the other way around. With what is dubbed Winter Whingers reports show women take longer to recover than men. I saw this on tv early and just had to share wooooohoooooo

And the reason why women take longer?

Because no matter how lousy she feels she knows that someone still has to feed the family,wash up,get the shopping,empty the bins,hoover, change the beds,do the ironing etc,etc,etc and no one else is going to to do the jobs so she tries to do said chores knowing that they will be even worse when left to build-up.

Men on the other hand just know how to leave such considerations to one side and worry about unfinished stuff much later.

The evidence is incontrovertible there is no argument women whinge more than men the myth is over

Well I may argue with the findings about how well men cope with the common cold, ( excuse me while I stop laughing) and from personal experience I can endorse Maggy's comments, but if you want to take this article at face value then you also have to admit that any whinging we ladies may very, very, very infrequently indulge in is as a result of your manly failings. If you appreciated us properly in the first place this debate would not have been needed.

Maybe it is more a case of needing more recognition for what they do and if they can't get that on a day to day basis then looking for a bit of sympathy when they're sick, is a way of making up for this."

....and maybe a few ladies will be tempted to retaliate to this slur by taking the separate beds option.

The best way to prevent either 'man' or 'woman' 'flu is probably to sleep in a separate bedroom to a suffering partner.

In my totally unqualified opinion, it's probably because men less socially acceptable when they appear weak so it's more noticed when they do. For instance on sitcoms when men cry it's generally to aid humour, when women cry its generally to communicate tragedy.

ha ha Pregnancy so painfull. Pregnancy is supposed to be as painful as an extreme kick in the balls. If thats the case why do woman want to get pregnant a second time. I certainly wouldn't asked to be kicked in the groin again

Bah!

After tucking the wife & baby up on the sofa at 8.45 this morning i next dropped our 2nd youngest off at school then headed off to the chemist to get myself,the wife and our youngest some cold remedies.After going and making sure some work was being done in my absence i went back home & tucked the wife & little one back up again before going and having a hot soak.
Next i stuck a washing on and made the kids beds etc before heading back to work to check on the skivers

Home an hour later to watch Peppa Pig,clean Hamsters out and make some nice hot soup for the 3 of us with our Flu`s,the wife with the worst case of course.
Next,stuck washing in the dryer,sorted the recyclables out then went did the school run at around 3.30,both of them.After the Secondry school run i had to do just to pick my lads canvas up i then went back to work for a progress report before coming home,cleaning up then making dinner for everyone.

I wont even bother listing the evenings chaos i`ve had the pleasure of but needless to say it involved the sick wife in one ear and noisy kids in the other.
I actually started this reply hours ago but only now got the chance to finish it.Finally though,i can now get to bed to hopefully sweat my own lousy cold out......after i make her another lemsip.
