Re: keeping fit
I keep my arms fit and in shape by answering stupid posts on Cable Forum....
We have a Wii Fit - and a Gym membership, which is a waste of money as I have not used it for a few months...

Re: keeping fit
Walking is easy and cheap, for me two hours @ 3miles an hour is around 900 calories.
3.0 miles/hour (20-minute mile): Burns .027 calories/pound/minute.
3.5 miles/hour (17 minute mile): Burns .033 calories/pound/minute.
4.0 miles/hour (15 minute mile): Burns .042 calories/pound/minute.
4.5 miles/hour (13 minute mile): Burns .047 calories/pound/minute.

Re: keeping fit
Cycling. There are tables you can look up for different things. If you want to burn fat, cycle in a particular HR range, if you want to increase stamina another, if you just want a bit of light exercise another, if you want to increase your maximum aerobic output another.

Re: keeping fit
I used to consider myself ok fit (2 years ago)
go to the gym twice a week (2hrs+)
go out running once in a while and
play football and basketball every now and then
but starting to get unfit now
injured myself a few times in 1st half of this year
and then my gym closed for refurbishment for half a year
they only said it will be a few months at 1st
well i would go running to keep fit
as it works most of ur body
i would agree that cycling and swimming should be better
lesser chance of injury but i never had good thigh muscle for cycling and never worked on them
swimming......... i don't think i can swim a length of a pool hehe
haven't been swimming since school days
well its mostly what u looking for
muscle mass gain, fat burning, cardio training or whatever
would be good to do sports with other people as u can have fun while doing exercise
and what i think is most important is keep yourself from getting injured

Re: keeping fit
Do more walking.
It's incredible the amount of people who get in the car for such small distances. Getting out and walking is good for exercise and good for your skin. Get some fresh air.

I wouldnt go down that route unless your sure your commited. Most will tie you in for a year and then require you to give 3 months notice to end your membership.
