Best Mobile network.?

What would you good people say, in your opinion , is the best mobile network? 02, T mobile, Orange?.
I ask because my contract is up with VM on the 12th of this month and i want a Nokia N96 but VM don`t do that handset and to be honest, their range of `phones is appalling!
I can get the N96 plus a wii + sports, 600 mins and unlimited texts for what i`m paying VM.

Re: Best Mobile network.?

Not really a question that can be answered properly. One network might be better in one area than the next. Also one network might give a better reception inside etc

Re: Best Mobile network.?

If it's any help, I've heard that o2 gives the best signal indoors, something to do with the frequency it runs on? Most of the networks have postcode checkers for signal too.

Re: Best Mobile network.?

I used to be with O2, since way back when they were Genie. Always had good reception with them. CS could be a bit crap though...

Currently with T-Mobile, since just over a year ago. Very good, but I think I had better reception with O2.

Re: Best Mobile network.?

It varies so much. O2 signal does not work in (parts of) this house. It's also flakey at a mate's house. Vodafone is flakey too. 3 is the biggest problem network I've heard about. 3G maps are the most misleading, they are more like a best case scenario. I live in an ultra urban area, not out in the countryside.

T-mobile seemed to work quite well and had a better data bundle. O2 phones seem to be a bit more pricey than on the other networks for the same phone but they've changed their data bundles now.

Yeah, O2's data charges used to be horrendous!

Re: Best Mobile network.?

I had major problems with signal with my VM phone, so I switched to Orange which is better, but not perfect. Hardly get a 3G signal at all, but it's better than the VM signal.

The best network signal I used to get was with 3 a few years back.

Re: Best Mobile network.?

For value for money i've heard o2 are good, but i don't know if this is still the case.

I'm on Orange PAYG and have been for over 10 years (ever since having a phone!), and had minimal problems with signal etc.

Re: Best Mobile network.?

Nokia N97 will be out soon i think, so it might be an idea to find out about that first before opting for the Nokia N96. Also have you thought about the iPhone, T-Mobile G1 or Vodafone Storm. I think those 3 are much better mobile phones than the N96.

As for networks, Vodafone is the better network where i live because it's the only one with good 3G coverage. Plus my sister works for Vodafone.

Re: Best Mobile network.?

I have to say 3, which I think runs through the t-mobile network. My boss has had a phone on probably every network, and has found that 3 have the best range of phones, good retention deals, and cs, and best signal. I'm on vodafone and often have drops.

Have a look here for tips

Re: Best Mobile network.?

I've been with O2 / BT cellnet since 1995 I've never had any problems with them, they do the N95 and N96 all on contract, I've just been contacted by O2 asking me if I want to reduce my paymets to them? They offered me unlimited texts and unlimited minutes for £20 per month? I was paying £32 a month.

Actually last i checked 3 used their own network for 3g and o2 for non 3g connections. Also everyone i know who has used 3 said they have a crap network and crap service.

I am with tmobile and while there network is generally excellent but it has a few bad areas in central london.
