Price increases
Just been shopping in the local Tescos and was wondering around the Home baking section looking for sunflower seeds as I tend to bake bread at home and my other half just loves them in and on top of the bread. Now for the last 18 months I've been buying these from Tesco's every week for prices ranging from 22p to 27p per 100g.
Imagine my shock today when as I went to grab the usual couple of packs I noticed the new price of 98p per 100g (exactly the same pack) which is an increase of nearly 300%..
Anyone noticed any other rediculous price increases????

Can't say I've noticed anything quite as bad as that - I suppose a poor harvest and/or a greater emphasis on the production of sunflower oil could be partly to blame.....

A McD Cheese burger has gone up from 89p to 99p this week. Quite a jump.

Smart Price Chopped tomatoes were 21 pence 6 weeks ago.Got reduced to 19p for a couple of weeks...then the price went up to 29 pence...and stayed there..I started buying from Lidls t which have been 21p all along through the increasing prices and have stayed at that price so far.Much nicer tomatoes too...

Re: Price increases
About a month ago Asda 415g of tinned salmon was 80p.
Now £1.58
5 Months ago a kilo block of cheeze was £3. Then it was reduced in size by 300g to 700g for £3. About 2 weeks ago went up from £3 to £3.75
Asda own brand frozen pizzas was 3 for £3 now 3 for £4
Asda chunky chicken 435g was 57p a tin. Now 81p a tin
Asda own brand tinned dogs was 23p. Now 44p
My question is. When the price of oil was sky high. That was used as an excuse for price increases. When the price of oil was falling dureing the summer it was going up in price. Now it is at a very low price. My question is why is food still going up by very high price increases.?
I no longer buy these products and I wonder why

Re: Price increases
I am not going to quote prices, but amongst items that have almost doubled:-
Bread, tinnned beans, tomatoes, tuna, and corned beef. Almost everything else you can think of, is up in price, milk, eggs, minced beef, chicken, the list is endless.
