Question Recycling laser toner cartridges?

I've just had to replace all of the toner cartridges that came with my printer.
I don't have any packaging with the replacement toners so I have no boxes to pack them in to send them back to HP.
I could hunt around for suitable boxes, but wondered if somewhere like PC World would take them as they are?

or you can try some charity shops as a few of them accept cartridges (toner or ink)

Re: Recycling laser toner cartridges?

Thanks Kymmy.
Do you know if the cartridges are refilled or disposed of?
If they're disposed I could use a tough bag for postage. If recycled they would need to be boxed.

Re: Recycling laser toner cartridges?

You can actually recycle them yourself, the toner is available on ebay and as long as they havn't been left lying around in daylight the OCP drum should be fine for reuse.

From what I remember though when we used to send our toners back from work they were always just bagged for postage

Re: Recycling laser toner cartridges?

Just been down to our local PC world and they have recycled toner cartridge facilities there - just wrap with tin foil and bag them up if you're worried about damage.

Since we're all so concerned about the environment why on earth do they allow the manufacturers to supply limited life cartridges with new printers? IMO they should make all cartridges carry the maximum amount of toner practicable for the cartridge size and type.
