More vandalism again !

I have posted a few times about incidents of vandalism where my parents live, this weekend in the early hours of Sunday morning there was another incident.

At 3:15am caught on the excellent night vision CCTV system they now have, was 3 youths smashing mirrors off cars. They also got a large 4 wheel wheelie bin from the flats and pushed down the road against the cars.

The police turned up on Sunday and made all the usual promises that this time (heard that one numerous times) they were committed to catching them. I just had a call from my parents to say the community police officer has been to their house this evening to view the evidence, because the officers who attended on Sunday were hoping he may be able to identify them.

The community police officer had a good look and only said that he had 'Seen one of them about'

My father walked up the garden path with him as he was leaving, and surprise surprise the mirror of my fathers car was broken off. The community officer was not sure if it was broken when he arrived, but the officer went on his way.

The big coincidence, is my father has viewed the recording from tonight and the damage was done by the same 3 youths whilst the community officer was at the house!

They are now waiting for the officer to come back.

I just wish I could catch them in the act.

Re: More vandalism again !

A sign of the times - official crime figures may be falling (that's when they manage to add them up properly of course) but crime doesn't appear to be.

Re: More vandalism again !

I'd have no problem breaking somebodys legs if they ever damaged any of my property. I wouldn't involve the police at all.

how depressing. The police seem either powerless or really can't be bothered to do anything anymore - even when faced with physical evidence like cctv. And they'd probably still want you to stand up in court and face the repurcussions yourself.

Police aren't worth the time you spend waiting for them, wow we'll have them charged, most vandals, quite frankly, don't give a s**t! I'd snap anyone if they went near my parents cars, specially my Dads Impreza.

Then possibly a few more citizens like yourself should enter the police force? You could certainly make sure at least one case load gets done right and the vandals, thugs etc are banged up?

And shock horror just maybe these teenagers should be caught and punished.

To update the situation as I have been in Holland for a week and got updated this afternoon.

Incident 1 last week.

In the early hours of last Monday morning there was another vandal attack by the same group on a number of cars in the street.
My parents car had the windscreen smashed and yet again there has been further top quality cctv evidence handed over to the police.

Incident 2 Wednesday last week around 1 am.

A group of 4 youths came up the street trying all the car doors, they broke the mirror off a neighbours car. They tried my parents car and then tried their driveway gates, my father had installed a third camera with microphone in the garage door. This one is close to the car and has a microphone, these youths can be heard talking and 2 names were mentioned.

As this was going on two of them went into next doors garden setting off their security light on their garage, and down their garden path towards their house setting off the security light on the house. At this point they got disturbed by my father appearing.

My father get one shot off at close range with his catapult, unfortunatly it hit the youth in the shoulder and not the intended target. He was unable to entice them to come after him as hoped because he had a nice little surprise arranged for them.

These youths were the same ones again, and 15 mins searching Facebook for the first names has come up with one from this town that looks like a very good match for one of them.

The police have obviously promised yet again that they are going to catch them. Top quality cctv evidence has again been supplied to the police.

I wouldn't bother holding my breath.

Re: More vandalism again !

Escapee you have my full sympathy as I myself lived with stress and hassle of a similar situation ....lived for years with no hassle till the family from hell moved in next door then it started ....My kids young at the time and any time they ventured into the back garden two dogs would be let out just to annoy them i.e. barking and running the full length of the fence.....Warned them If any of the two of them harm any of my kids would take the drastic action and personal remove them from planet earth..Any dog s##t on my premises and would return the favour of posting it back through the letter box ....whish I had to do twice!
Twice my car was damaged but unable to prove who did it ....the two teenage brats that lived next door were the culprits ....The pair used to sit upon my garage till I covered it in thick black grease! Best laugh I had all year watch those two coming home with the nice new designer jeans basically ready for the bin.
So do you take the, law into your hands and have it delt with! Hard question to answer and depends on each individual situation...
Story ended up that we moved on and wrong as we had lived there most of our life ....I could handle them but I’m afraid my wife could not

Re: More vandalism again !

Just to update, there have been 2 more instances since I last posted.

A few weeks ago about 6 cars were damages including the windscreen on my fathers car. I just had a call from my parents, who want me to have a look at the cctv evidence from last night where 3 cars were attacked including my parents.

The police have been yet again, and yet again have promised to take action. (Thats at least 6 times so far this year they have made that promise) Apparently the cctv is again good quality and clearly identifies the culprit, a young female. The police say once again the individual is known to them, but there is not enough evidence.

It looks like I need to spend time stopping at my parents, because the police are not going to take any action. young woman or niot, she would get a good beating if I caught her.

What is the point of the police force in this country? (I know, to arrest me when I take action)

Re: More vandalism again !

I have posted the latest attack on Youtube, link below.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3uStqJYhO8

I have now managed to identify the female by showing the video in the pub. (Much to the dismay of our local do-gooder who was present)

The footage shows a female and a male, but about 15 seconds later a second male runs to catch them up. I understand the same night as well as damaging 2 other cars there was an attempt to steal a set of ladders off a builders van a few hundred meters away. The police was called and the unconscious thief was found slightly battered on the pavemnent and was arrested.
