I'm James Bond. Honest.
Quote:
A fantasist has been jailed for two years after conning police into thinking he was a James Bond-style secret agent.
Michael Newitt, 41, turned up at Hinckley police station in Leicestershire announcing himself as Commander Newitt of the Metropolitan police. He said he was a special operations commander with MI5, the Foreign Office and counter-terrorism units.
An officer gave Newitt a new pocket book after he claimed to be on a counter-terrorism operation in the county.
Newitt's fake ID documents were carried in a leather wallet with a crown on the front. The letters CMG – standing for a high-ranking award fictitiously presented to James Bond in the story From Russia with Love – were printed after his name.

Just came accross this storey. Not sure if its funny or scarey since he did fool some officers.

Re: I'm James Bond. Honest.
my next door neighbour was jailed earlier this year for doing almost axactly the same thing, but used his cunning ways to trick police officers into lending him money, he called himself a characters name from a bond film, a drug smuggler or something, even on his way to court he still said "dont worry Mi5 will be here to sort it out.
i cant wait till he gets released in a couple of years, the ba$£"rd owes me money.

Re: I'm James Bond. Honest.
see there is a pattern developing and it's highly irresponsible to be releasing Bond "Quantum of Shoe Lace" without providing clarification and a help line number on all posters.
"All characters in this movie are ficticious, please do not attempt to replicate being a secret agent etc etc"
