Lost feeling in fingers.
Hey guys, a little question for you, i've lost feeling in two of my fingers almost completely. Feels like a numb sensation, rather like when your fingers have gone to sleep.
This is on my left hand, smallest two fingers and a tiny bit on the central finger.
The only thing that's happened to that arm recently is a rather rough person grabbing my bicep area with fingertips far too hard. (Though the feeling was lost roughly 12 hours later).
I don't really want to go to a doctor or specialist as i can't afford it, anyway got any ideas?

Did you sleep on them?

Well, I'm not a doctor ... but on a tangent, how come you don't have health insurance, or whatever else you need in order to get seen by a GP while you're in Norway?

You still need to pay, with insurance, oddly.
Just thought, i tend to bang that elbow an awful lot, but this has never happened before.

Re: Lost feeling in fingers.
It's going to be either an Ulnar nerve injury or a C8 nerve root injury (or a mixture of the two)
Without doing a neurological exam I can't narrow things down any more than that.....

I'm also not a Doctor - but - do you smoke? Could be your blood circulation.

Re: Lost feeling in fingers.
It could be something to do with the Ulnar Nerve
A problem I have suffered from in the past.
Edit... beaten by the expert.

Nope. Never smoked.
And if it is the Ulnar nerve, is it serious? Going to read that link now...

Re: Lost feeling in fingers.
Sorry to tell you Druchii but your fingers will fall off within 3 hours.
Take this time and do things with these fingers that you always wanted to do but was never brave enough to do so
I know nothing about this so I hope it's not serious and you'll live!

Re: Lost feeling in fingers.
Ok reading that it says entrapment etc can last a few days or so. It's been 2 now, so... I guess another won't hurt too much.

Thats where a neurological exam comes in handy....
How old are you? I'm assuming not too old......so it's probably not your heart....

Re: Lost feeling in fingers.
Go and see the doc.....ask if you can see one at your practice who has an interest in peripheral nerve injuries/neurological complaints.....you might get lucky
