Check your tariffs...

1st June:
Eon puts up gas and electricity prices, still best price for us, so I stick with them.

21 August
Eon tells me of a new tariff, prices fixed until 1 november 2009, but prices will drop if wholesale prices drop. Cannot change to this tariff as their lines are engaged and website screwed.

22 August:
Eon puts up gas and electricity prices 26% for gas, 16% for electricity.

27 August
I find out from their website details of a new tariff, prices fixed until 1 November 2009, but prices will drop if wholesale prices drop.

The last tariff is dropped to the same level as the tariff at 1st June?

So what was the hugely publicised 26/16% hike for?

For people who are too daft to check the tariffs?

The old tariff was EnergyOnline Extra Saver 5, the new one is EnergyOnline Extra Saver 8, both tariffs as follows:

Electricity
Normal units up to 900 kWhs
20.3805 pence
Normal units
11.823 pence per kWh

Gas
Normal units up to 2680 kWhs
4.5696 pence
Normal units
2.9127 pence per kWh
