Phew it's HOT! The thermometer shows 30 degrees most of the day and it can't be much less at night. Had a bit of a frustrating day in search of gas for the stove. I don't think we are going to find any so will have to do with eating stuff cold - or eating out. This could be expensive as prices seem to be about the same as at home. This is only our second whole day but there don't seem to be many vestiges of its eastern european days - a few old cars and some weird supermarkets but mostly it just seems like many other small European cities. It does have a deep-water port and several huge cruise ships have been through. We've seen Zenith, Aurora and Polewi(?). They arrive in the morning and depart in the afternoon/evening. Busses arrive to take all the passengers off to the old town in the hottest part of the day. We're waiting 'til the temperature drops a bit before we do the tourist bit this evening. It looks pretty and has had quite a lot of rebuilding since 68% of the buildings were hit during the civil war in 1991 or 1992. We've booked the ferry to take us to Istria on Sunday for a little bit of cycletouring. Fortunately, we haven't planned on doing too much each day - we'd never manage it in this heat. My 3 quid's worth is running out soon so TTFN.
