Hotel Recommendations in Slough?

Simple question really, can anybody recommend a good hotel in Slough?

Got three weeks up there in October and need somewhere decent to stay.

Ideally should be somewhere decent as I need a desk and space to work during the evening.

Thanks

Re: Hotel Recommendations in Slough?

Never stayed in any hotels in Slough, but went to a conference and company party in the Holiday Inn there, which was ok.

Copthorne isn't too bad (and fairly central), but we used to always stay in Windsor, which is only 10 minutes away.

Re: Hotel Recommendations in Slough?

That's a second vote for the Copthorne - depends how much you want to spend though.

If you're after somewhere local to eat out I can also recommend Tummies.

Re: Hotel Recommendations in Slough?

Might be worth checking www.booking.com
There's always useful visitor feedback with each hotel details, which can save you some grief.

I use their service for my B&B and know it's reliable. You can book on-line as well if you wish.

Re: Hotel Recommendations in Slough?

I've been to the Copthorne too. To be honest, any hotel belonging to a chain is going to be of a certain standard so you should be ok.

Re: Hotel Recommendations in Slough?

Ok, the Copthorne doesn't look too bad - money's not going to be a problem TBH as work are paying.

Any more suggestions?

Re: Hotel Recommendations in Slough?

Stoke Place or Burnham Beeches - they are 2-3 miles outside Slough, but nice "Country House" hotels.

In Windsor/Eton
The Christopher Hotel

Re: Hotel Recommendations in Slough?

Hilton St Anne's Manor, between Bracknell and Wokingham. Only a few minutes from Slough, but very relaxing with a decent health club (including a swimming pool).

Re: Hotel Recommendations in Slough?

Depends on your definition of a few minutes - that stretch of the M4 to get from Bracknell to Slough can be a git at times. I'd say you're looking at about 30 minutes if not more to get from there to the middle of Slough Industrial Estate.

Rob - If you don't mind sharing, what bit of Slough do you need to get to while working?

Edit: The Copthorne also has a gym and swimming pool you get free (I think) access to as a guest.

Re: Hotel Recommendations in Slough?

Will you have transport?

If you don't have a car, I would recommend the Copthorne (10 minute walk), or somewhere in Eton/Windsor, as that is 10 mins by train.
