Premier Inn Wireless
I'm off on my travels and tonight I've been booked into a, what I'm sure will be delightful, Premier Inn in South Wales.
Now it says on their website... High speed internet access is available in this hotel by WiFi for a small fee.
Has anyone stayed in a Premier Inn recently and is the wireless in bedrooms or just public areas, and what do they class as a small fee?
I've a vodafone usb stick to fall back on but it only seems to connect at 56k round here.

Re: Premier Inn Wireless
In general, any hotel that claims to offer WiFi in its rooms is selling you an impossible dream. The topography of a hotel makes it impossible to deliver, unless you're lucky enough to have an access point right outside your door. So, if they're offering it to your room, don't believe it (I've never stayed in a Premier Inn so I don't know what they offer).

Re: Premier Inn Wireless
I have used wifi in a premier inn. I was staying in one for a week in london a while back. Think it was 20 quid for wifi for the week. I think you can buy it by the day as well.

Where in Wales you staying? Swansea, Aberdare, Merthyr or Cardiff?
You could ring them go to http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php & search Premier Inn (for the Local Hotel Number)....
The Premier Inn rooms are very Nice.

Re: Premier Inn Wireless
£10 for 24hrs is about typical. You'll also discover that no matter how close you are to other businesses/houses there won't be any unsecure access points within range
On the other hand, if you're lucky enough to get a hotel that's in The Cloud you can get a month for £7 - it's a recurring contract so you have to remember to cancel before the next month starts.

Re: Premier Inn Wireless
Most hotels I've been with through wotk, there's BT Wireless in the lobby/bar area which you have to pay for.
In your room, there's a network lead to plug into your laptop again which you have to pay for.

Re: Premier Inn Wireless
£12 for 24 hours access. The girl in reception tried to sell me a card for only 60 minutes access that cost £5!

Re: Premier Inn Wireless
Premier inn = cheap ass hotel.
Goto cardiff and stay in the park plaza for some nice 4 star boutige treatment where wifi/net is free.
All Cearphilly has is a busted castle and cheese.
