Arthur, your Vec has two alarms. A factory fitted one (or after market fitted one) and a 'power sounder'. The power sounder is a horn (beep, beep, beep) which will sound if your battery is disconnected (by a thief to disable the factory alarm for example) without the keys in the ignition. I suggest you check that your battery terminals are tight.

Woah! Welcome, there's no need for the huge blue font, most of us can read, this is not a car forum so wether someone will have an answer to your question or not, who knows? If you check the previous post in this thread to yours, there is a link to a car specific forum, HTH

Get it checked out by somebody before you end up damaging the catalytic converter and end up with more expense next time your MOT is due.

Re: I need help - on Vauxhall Vectra problem

I am glad that this situation has come up again, we got conned by our local dealership on the scrappage scheme.

We got the problem fixed on the original problem of the alarm, and decided to get rid and sell it.

BUT Vauxhall conned us, and gave my son £150.00 for a £1.500 car, and we are trying to get something done about it, now.

How did they con you? surely you/your son didn't accept the offer then?

Re: I need help - on Vauxhall Vectra problem

We have heard today, that Barclays have said that they as the car my son bought was 'secondhand', my son cannot get out of the deal.

The offer of £150.00 was given AFTER the deal was done, and we are now in the process of contacing the Ombudsman service.

We have been told by legal experts, that this is a way these dealers get away with it, and suggest these methods.

They have said, when you see the car and the price, clarify it with the dealer, along with the deal, as they will push extra cost onto the agreement and once you have signed, you cannot get out of it.

Didn't you notice the "extra cost" on the agreement?

Re: I need help - on Vauxhall Vectra problem

That bit was covered by the saleman hand. The car was only worth £9.000 but my son has got to pay a staggering 19.000.
