Gift Voucher

A friend of mine got a Ã‚Â£100 gift voucher for Christmas. When she went to use it she discovered that the shop had closed down, bankrupt.

Is that just bad luck or is there any way of getting the money back?

If the person who bought the voucher, originally, paid by credit card they 'may' be able to claim a refund from the card company, but there might be a time limit on it....

Is it a chain as they can probably use it in another town ?

Does the shop trade online....worth looking them up incase they do and have contact details.
