Plea for help from my mates on forum
To my mates on forum, l need your help and advise, we are booked on a holiday for next year to Florida, and my special needs son, cannot get travel insurance for him, we have been twice before, insurance company before was ASDA, and the POST OFFICE, and for some unknown reason, they won't insure him now, AND he still has the same problem.
He has ' COARTION OF THE AORTA' which is to do with the heart, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, and for this he takes one tablet per day, THIS has been with him, from his birth, and as l have said, we have been TWICE before, some insurance companies say it could be due to the tablet, but l was hoping that my mates on this forum, might know of an insurance company that could insure him. Many thanks, and please be serious, as this is a serious matter.

Quite a few companies worth trying at travelhealth.co.uk...
The entry for AllClear (which is mentioned on the above site) at moneysupermarket.com specifically mentions Special Needs:

AllClear Travel Insurance provides specialist travel insurance for people with pre-existing medical conditions, disabilities or special needs. Your family, friends and/or travelling companions can also be covered on the same policy. We offer the ability for online quoting and policy fulfilment with trained operators available to speak to if required.

Re: Plea for help from my mates on forum
If your son is seeing a specialist for this condition it might be worth asking your specialist, or any other health care professionals that he sees regularly, they may have encountered this problem and may be able to offer some constructive advice/suggestions.
Failing that, ask if they know of any support groups for your son's condition - again, these groups will probably have encountered this before and will almost certainly be able to suggest an appropriate course of action.
Hope you get this sorted

Extremely unlikely but worth a try I suppose....

We had trouble taking my 80+ father-in-law to Spain but American Express provided travel insurance for him at a reasonable rate.
Worth a try

Re: Plea for help from my mates on forum
I am very grateful to everyone for there help in this matter, what really angers me, is that insurance companies, are a rule unto themself, he has been too Florida TWICE, before, as l said, with ASDA, POST OFFICE, and yet they told us, he is on their files, and there was was no trouble in Florida, but they still couldn't insure him, doesn't make sense does it.

Arthur, Asda and the PO get their insurance from the major insurance companies, like Aviva etc - you will probably find it is the source companies risk rules that have changed (only taking less risky business than before).
Doesn't help you, I know, but just trying to help you understand.

It may be that they have tightened the rules..
Hower, my sister needed travel insurance. She had major back surgery about 15 years ago, so was excluded from cover with most of the major insurance companies. IIRC, she ended up (after trying various companies online) going to our local branch of the Halifax, who were happy to sell her insurance (despite her having the op).

Presumably you are taking out the travel insurance separately from the holiday booking
If that is the case, it might be worth contacting the travel agent and asking about two quotes
One for everyone incuded and the other just for your son as all the other people will be covered on another policy
It's more than likely the lack of cover is due to a change in age and length of time of illness
What age last time, and what age this time?
