hi guys listens when you complain to john lewis .com that person is not employed by john lewis and does not get discount or bonus and in fact is one of the lowest paid call centers in uk where their bosses treat them like classroom kids but we are not suppose to tell you this so next time you call us guys on the phones want to help you customers but our hands are tied

JL may out source the call centre but the cant out source responsibilities to the customer

If its that bad then why do they work there? Perhaps they need to stop whinging and either do their jobs properly and conscientously or look elsewhere?

A bit like "Never knowingly under sold then" They dont give 2 hoots about customer service in my experience unless its for 30 secs on the shop floor to sell you something

I looked at the John Lewis website

which makes a big thing about how their employees are partners & share in the company success - if it is true that the customer service personnel are not counted in on that, then I can sympathise if they feel, comparatively, hard done by.

The perception of the 'service centre' employee as allegedly external to the business is a strange one, given the inclusive treatment of the rest of their staff, so I think the op is expressing a genuine grievance, rather than 'whingeing'??

I once bought an exercise bike from them, i got them to drop the price by £100 as i could buy it elsewhere cheap. They never altered the price in the shop. Since then if another shop sells cheaper i go to the other shop.

We've also had out hall stairs and landing decorated by JL as they caused so much damage trying to deliver furniture that was faulty and which they didnt check until it was in the house.

I think the OP is just trying to spread mischief and cause problems for JL. JL isnt one of my regular haunts but when i have been there,i have had good service. He is obviously a disgruntled employee. He probably got sacked or disciplined so now he feels aggrieved.

I believe that if you sign up and take someones money,then you are duty bound and morally obliged to do a decent days work for it. I know that sounds a bit old fashioned but i believe its right. If he feels hard done by maybe he needs to go speak to someone about it. Like i say..shape up or ship out but dont dis a whole company for one incident. I'm sure there are plenty of people who work at JL who are happy in their work.
