Navman Installation CD

Hey Guys,

I have a Navman S70 and when I left home today it was working OK. Something, (one of those secret technology myths) has corrupted something on it and I think it's going to need a complete wipe and reinstall.

I am working away from home for the next two weeks and so don't have my installation CD with me.

I went to the navman website to see about downloading it and after waiting for what seemed like an age I downloaded the Service Pack for SmartST 2008. Unfortunately, it seems like I need the original CD before I can install the service pack.

Issues I am having:

When powering on from a full power off, I get an error "Some maps failed to load correctly".
Also when setting up bluetooth and starting a search, I get the error "Error setting inquiry".

I have tried holding the power button down for 10 seconds to turn the unit off then turning it back on but I get the same issues.

So, it looks like I need to install the original CD on my laptop (which I have up here) and the use the downloaded service pack and then somehow reset the data on the S70.

Navman website and tech support is useless.

Sooooo can anyone do my a huge favour and allow me to grab a copy of the installation CD off anyone? I will be in work tomorrow so will see if there are any kind offers...

Your help would be much appreciated cause without my navman I will have to resort to Google Maps to get around!!! Gosh, Shock, Horror

Re: Navman Installation CD

Thanks bobdude for trying.

I am surprised though that it's turning up on torrent sites and as someone who forked out near £200 I am not allowed to download it legally anywhere. It's not like it does anything without your navman or a serial code (which I have) so why it's not available is beyond me.

I guess clearly navman haven't caught up to the Internet Revolution and the Electronic Distribution of Software yet

Note: I don't want anyone to post dodgy links here that might get them in trouble.
If you think you can help me with a copy of the CD then please PM. Note I don't want or have access to grab any files from torrents or newsgroups so please refrain from posting those sorts of links.

Cheers!

Re: Navman Installation CD

Have you tried asking NAVMAN themselves if there's an option, they'd probably want to see proof of purchase (anyone at home ale to fax it??) but should be able to help...

Re: Navman Installation CD

No one at home or they would be able to post the CD to me

I haven't tried Navman apart from their online support as I assume the same as you, they will require proof of purchase and I guess take at least a week minimum to send me the CD.

Am home in two weeks so at a guess that would be a rather pointless exercise

Anybody maybe know any tips to troubleshoot by deleting files off the internal memory or anything? I can at least hook it up to my USB port and navigate the file structure.

Re: Navman Installation CD

I don't suppose there's a factory reset option, I know there is on my TomTom One.

Re: Navman Installation CD

You know what, I didn't even think of that...

Although just did a factory reset and still get the 'Some maps failed to load correctly" at startup. I guess I need to remove them all and copy them all back to my navman again using the software. Looks like I might be fighting a losing battle and just go back to the old A-Z for a couple weeks!

Still get the bluetooth error as well after a factory reset.

Ah well thanks for you help, don't expect there is anything I can do now for a couple weeks...

Re: Navman Installation CD

Luckily enough I am home now and got my CD

Don't think Navman have a very useful Tech Support or a forum of any note.

Thanks though
