I am a prize twerp.
This morning I hauled myself out of bed, drove to the station and caught a train to Edinburgh for series of meetings relating to two contracts I'm working on at the moment. I stopped for a coffee to kill half an hour before my first appointment, when I got that horrible, cold feeling in the pit of my stomach. I checked my diary. The meetings are all tomorrow. I caught a train back home.
Total cost, four hours and about £15 in petrol and rail tickets.
So, to help cheer me up and convince me I'm not alone, could some of you please tell me what's the stupidest thing you've done lately?

Re: I am a prize twerp.
I spent 10 mins trying to phone the National Lottery having recieved an error when trying to log in to their site - something about exceeding a maximum number of login attempts.
After passing all the security questions it was when asked for the username I was logging in with that I twigged I was missing a letter out!
Despite the polite manner she gave me, I'm sure the woman who handled the call put the phone down and called me a name not dismilar to the one in the thread title!

Ouch - unlucky Chris!
Yesterday I processed & compressed over an hour of concert video footage and uploaded 3 times it to 3 separate folders on a server because each client has their own account. Then realised it was only an approval & all they needed to do was download it anyway & not keep it there so could have just used one global folder...
Result was 750MB upped when it could have been only 250..

Hands up those who think Chris should actually admit that he is a trainspotter and actually had a fun morning.

Re: I am a prize twerp.
Asked my husband to hold on, 5 minutes later he asked what he was holding on for and I had no idea that I had even asked him to hold on in the first place?
I also burnt myself with the iron.

Re: I am a prize twerp.
Had a full weekly shop at the supermarket. Large Saturday queue behind me and totally embarrassed because the cash card machine kept rejecting my pin number.
I just managed to scrape together the cash by turning my pockets inside out and finding the odd pence in the bottom of my handbag.
Having escaped the shop feeling terrible I sat in the car trying to stop shaking and realised I had been putting in my home alarm number.

We could have a Twerp of the year
---------- Post added at 14:59 ---------- Previous post was at 14:57 ----------
A long time ago i went and bought a part for my car, went home, fitted the part. Got cleaned up and a change of clothes. Went out in the car to check all was fine and while i was out i filled up with petrol only to realise once i had filled up that my wallet was in the trousers i'd just changed out of.

Re: I am a prize twerp.
It's been a bad couple of weeks including:
1. Attempting to check in to the wrong hotel. Not good when there's a queue of people behind you.
2. Pay and display ticket at Hillingdon Station: £3.50, forgetting to buy one: £50

Re: I am a prize twerp.
Spent 45 mins yesterday, trying to work out why a customers videoplus recording didn't record but manually set timers did.
The first thing I do with failed timer recordings is check the clock to see if it is right, ie time, date, month, year, it was correct. It wasn't until I decided to reset the clock as a last attempt to cure the problem, that I remembered that it was a 24 hour clock and therefore had been 12 hours slow!

Re: I am a prize twerp.
When I lived at my mum and dads and was a delivery driver, I once got home after work whilst they were away and fell asleep on the couch,
I woke up at 7 cursed myself for being late and drove to work, Got in my truck and set off.
about 15 mins later I turned on the radio and realised that it was 7pm.....
DOH!!!!
