Am I right to feel angry
I had some photos done of me, partner and my son. There are various pictures oh my son on his own and with us as a family.
The photographer is a good friend of mine but did it all professional and is charging me half price for everything. Now we had a preview sheet arrive via post on Saturday with all the shots on this sheet. My dad came down with his wife and I showed him the pictures.
He said my Nan would like some and told us which ones. Today I got a text from my dads wife stating I should buy my Nan a picture and not to order one if I am not willing to. I don’t think this is fair. My other Nan is buying her own one.
I am out of work and only had the photos done because my son missed his at nursery as we had to take him out due to me losing my job. So we have to pay for the photographer, our photos and our nans if I choose to do so.
I feel like I am being put on the spot here and its making me angry.

Re: Am I right to feel angry
Thing is my dad and his wife are not even buying a photo. They want me to scan my copy for them. That has upset me to.

Re: Am I right to feel angry
Does sound a bit unfair mate. Does your Nan know what your Dad has said? Maybe have a word with your Nan and explain they're half price to begin with - chances are she'd be more than happy to pay for her own photo.
On the other hand, count your blessings that you have a Dad and Nan to at least discuss things with. It gets harder when they're not there any more.
Not worth falling out over really.

Re: Am I right to feel angry
Cheeky sods!!! Suppose you could just buy a master copy for you and then just scan / print as many copies as you like, and make them pay for materials.
That way everybody gets a copy for a fraction of the price. If they don't like that idea, they don't get a photo and don't feel guilty!

Hmmm! A hard one.I'm assuming we are talking pensioners here?If so you may have to accept it...You'll be on a hiding to nothing if you don't.Balancing family ties can be so difficult sometimes...If, however they are working grandparents then why don't they pay for your Nan's photo? If you mention how short it has left you of course they may well offer.
Family should understand these things though is my opinion.

Re: Am I right to feel angry
Can't you either scan your photos, or ask for the photos on a CDr so you can print them off for whoever wants one?
Edit:LSainsbury beat me to it

I still have to buy ink when it runs out after printing loads of photos.

Re: Am I right to feel angry
Photo print type shops can do them for very, very little these days. I had some amazing A3 ones done for around a pound each. There's probably some very cheap online sites I'd imagine too. It doesn't have to be expensive.
I'm not sure you'll be printing 'loads' of photos anyway will you?? You're painting yourself a very dark picture!

Re: Am I right to feel angry
Make the point you cant afford to buy for them all, its not fair to buy for one and not another therefore if anyone wants them they will have to pay (however you have negotiated half price pictures )

Re: Am I right to feel angry
How about marking up the price of everyone else's by enough to cover the cost of your Nan's photo(s)?

Re: Am I right to feel angry
Just a thought, but if it is your nan's birthday anytime soon then you give her the photo as a present and be done with it. I've seen enough family feuds in my time and there is usually a way out to suit all.
