Whats a guardian in regards to family law
My brother is currently fighting to see his children but his ex is not playing ball. Not turning up to court, ignoring court orders and ignoring CAFCASS.
He had a phone call this morning from his solicitor stating a guardian is to be appointed to the case.
What is the guardian and what is there purpose?
Thanks

Re: Whats a guardian in regards to family law
I'm guessing that will mean someone will be looking after the children whilst the case is going? Or am I wrong and using the wrong meaning for the word?

why get information that may or may not be correct? - if he's paying someone for this he should get the information from the horse's mouth - I don't pay for an accountant to ask the bloke down the pub when i can and can't offset against tax each year.

Re: Whats a guardian in regards to family law
Do they mean a Guardian Ad Litem?
The Guardian Ad Litemis a person independent of, but appointed by, the court to represent the child in court and to make recommendations to the court regarding the best interests of the child, rather than those of either parent.
