I only remember the old ones when they tested them on the track and found out they toppled over when taking corners. The ones I've seen on the road look ok, I've never driven one so I can't comment.

Re: Suzuki Swift
Just spotted this, my last car was a 1994 (M) Suzuki Swift GSi and it was a fantastic little motor, my Dad test drove a VW Golf and a Suzuki Swift among other cars and the Swift was his second choice, he chose the Golf over it, but for what the Swift is, its an amazing little Motor and they really loved it on Top Gear when it arrived on the scene!

Re: Suzuki Swift
My parents had a new one about 3 or 4 years ago. I drove it once, I wouldn't recommend them to be honest. Suspension was way too soft in my opinion and the car seemed to rool a bit when going round corners and the engine had no real 'go' whatsoever. They traded it in in 2006 and bought a Nissan.

If you are talking about the little swift in this clip, the newest one, then I've heard good things about them. I think Suzuki pulled their socks up for the latest version.

Mine was the old version (1994), it was a lovely little car and weighed nothing thanks to its lack of safety features bought in with newer cars The engine was 1.3l and felt pretty nippy, it got me to Norfolk and back at a decent speed - did 70mph at 3k revs in 5th!
The one my Dad looked at buying was the new one in the video, and is a great car too with many improvements on the old design!

Re: Suzuki Swift
I love the new Swift. I don't own one but it is the car I want when I eventually get round to passing my test. Which should be in the next few months

Re: Suzuki Swift
We replaced our car before Christmas and among the cars I tried out was the 1.5 Swift. To be honest, there was nothing much wrong with it but I didn't get on with it as well as I did the Honda Jazz, which we ended up buying. I didn't think the handling/ride were quite as good in the Swift as the Jazz...although the difference wasn't that great.

so your saying if it was not the jazz it would have been the swift???
so not much difference?
the only thing I noticed was the seat height a bit big, and the windscreen a bit low (if that makes sense) and a lack of power but I have got a 1.6s Seat Leon.

Yea, they were the top two from the cars we considered...though the Toyota Yaris was another possible until I read some reviews which all said that the re-vamped version was not as good as the previous one
