Retail Legal Question
All,
I need a little help on retail law, basically whilst working away on business I went to a fast food outlet to get my dinner, and as the company will be paying for it, I requested a receipt. I was then advised that they could not print a receipt as the printer was broken.
I then asked for a written receipt, and the outlet dually refused as he didn’t know the VAT number for the company. After many minutes discussing this I backed down to enjoy cold food………
My question is, is it a legal requirement to provide a receipt for any goods or food being purchased??
I thought that it was a legal requirement to provide document, hence the question. I feel that a complaint is required to this company, but I need to know the fact before I proceed.
Thanks
