I saw a documentary on the Westboro Baptist Church a year or so back, fronted by Louis Theroux, and these so called Christians were the most hateful people I've ever seen. They were going on mass to funerals of soldiers who had fallen in Iraq, so they could taunt the family's saying their son had died because God hates America because of homosexuality, the awful thing was they had children of about 8, 9 or 10 holding really offensive banners and also chanting this rubbish. It never fails to amaze me how all these religious zealots, no matter what religion, always know what God wants, mind you though these morons at the Westboro church are doing more for atheism than I ever could.

I think if you believe in the things that the Westboro Baptist 'Church' (which ain't a church its a family), then you aren't Christian, period. They are called Christians because people want to believe they are, not because of they are. They aren't Christian in any sense of the word.

A Christian is a person who believes and adheres to the teachings of Christ. Even if they are pushing it with their definitions of the parables they are still fundamentally Christians same as a Muslim who decides to blow himself up and a Muslim who believes in the peaceful version of the Koran are still both Muslims

As an atheist even I can see this, these haters are the other side of the coin to the Abu Hamsa brigade, basically self publicists who have hi-jacked "their" religion and perverted it. I don't know if this has happened so far in either case, but it wouldn't go a miss if the head of the local church or mosque were to come out and publicly put these morons down.

But we do not though do we. Both me and thee both believe in God and Jesus and are both christians but our faiths are different and only one of us can be right or maybe we are both wrong

Personally I just subscribe to the maxim of 'live and let live'.

Hating gets you no-where and you end up not living your life at all.
