Best thing to do is take a scrap of paper and write on it quickly, roughly, but above all HONESTLY, why you're applying for the job. Then take that and try to translate it into words that are easy to read and convey the feeling behind the reasons that you're giving.
Once you have that you should be about 75% of the way there.
Now what you need to do is look at your application from your prospective employers point of view. They want to know why you're applying, but they also want tyo know how your reasons for applying will benefit them.
It may be that the money is better in the new job, but you have to make it sound like you're moving not only because the money is better initially but because you see more prospects there for you in the future.
It may be that you're already in some sort of customer service role, but you just want a change of scenery - as far as they're concerned you should be saying something like 'whilst I'm enjoying my current role, I feel that I would now like to move to a position that provides me with greater challenges and opportunities for development'.
Remember, the interview is the easy bit - your application is your tool for selling yourself. Anybody can shine at an interview, to write a really good application (or CV) though takes a whole lot more work.
Having said ALL of that, the MOST important thing with applications/CVs is to TELL THE TRUTH. If you don't it will come back to bite you on the ass.
