Littlewoods catalogue problem

Bit of a long post sorry!!!

Hi all, I'm after some advice.

Here's the gist of the problem.
We ordered a 3 seater + 2 seater leather suite from the on-line store\catalogue. This was on a buy now pay Feb 2009 on a 52 week interest free offer at a price of £699.

The suite was delivered 03\03\08 upon arrival I had a problem with one of the feet, the T-Nut was missing on the front right insert on the 2 seater.

Wife phoned Littlewoods stating the problem and, they said no probs. They ordered another suite whilst also adding the one already delivered to us for collection.

They said they could pick up the faulty suite on the 18\03\08 but new one wouldn't be delivered until the end of March, which means we would be without a suite for up to 2 weeks.

Anyway I managed a fix (new T-Nut) phoned Littlewoods to tell them that we would not be needing the exchange as we could not do without for such a long time, they then cancelled the replacement and gave us a £35 credit in payment for receiving faulty goods that we fixed.

Next statement came along saying that the suite was no longer on BNPL Feb09 but pay now @ 52 weeks.

Wife phoned Littlewoods and after a lot of complaining (they said it was an IT problem) that the innitial suite sale should not have come up with a BNPL option on an interest free credit deal and that it should be 29.9%apr, we said that if they cant honour the original deal that we were given then they could come and get the suite and we would go else where. Final bit was OK we have changed the rules but website has not been updated but this time we will allow you to have the deal you initially got with a BNPL 52 week interest free and it would show on next statement, well next statement came and they took payment for the suite, then the statement for May came and they have moved the suite to BNPL Feb09 104weeks @ £902.97

Wife has tried phoning again to sort this problem and is waiting on a call back.

What I would like to know is does Littlewoods have to honour the original statement\bill that clearly shows BNPL Feb09 52 weeks or can they now change their interest free option and charge us interest after they sold us the item and as it was shown on the original statement as an interest free buy.

TIA

Al

Funny how similar posts come up at similar times.
Invitation to treat, well the original deal you saw.
Offer, well you made one at £699 BNPL
Acceptance, they did and they delivered the goods on that basis.
Consideration, well Littlewoods Card Services or whoever administers the statement side has paid them for it and you have a liability to them.

It is a technology problem, they effectively cancelled the original order and the replacement order in March could not / was not put through on the same terms but that is not your problem.

Keep that statement safe. Photocopy it, Scan it etc.

If you pay the £699 before Feb 09 then your free and clear of this liability.
