Re: Pics with new camera
Thanks for the comments
Yup Altis has it right Fuji 5800 and rightly as Zing has stated a grey import from Ebuyer with little warranty and unable to register on fuji.com.
For a bridging camera its excellent, its fully featured has an excellent 10x optical zoom and a 5x digital zoom which if you take a shot using the highest pic size at around ISO400 and reduce the image size in photoshop it still gives a very credible picture.

I'm surprised you couldn't register it , if a Fuji. I bought one such from somewhere in Belgium some 5 years ago. An S602Z if memory serves. They gave me no hassle about registering that. Maybe the have changed the rules.Anyway, if yours gives you as little hassle and as good service as mine has so far the lack of warranty will not be a problem.

Is that why it takes good black and white photos?

My only advice is that you should move and go live somewhere much more pleasant.

Re: Pics with new camera
Nidge and Al, Where is/was Rufford Colliery i'd like to have a wander down there at some point, could I get there on foot from Oak Tree?
I've taken a few photo's round here, mostly just off the rainworth cycle track, theres also a path(very sandy) that goes off jubilee way before you get to the golf course, goes down the side of the sand quarry and then into the woods. I've walked through there and come out where the main Rainworth roundabout is.
Have a look at a few of mine(take with a Finepix S6500)
