Gas lift for chair

Hello,
A few years ago I bought an office chair from Argos (I think that's where it was from), anyway - I think the gas lift cylinder has gone kaput, so I wondered if there was any place I could purchase another one from?

There are no manufacturer markings on the chair...

I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago, in the end I ended up getting a new chair from Ebuyer.

I got THIS ONE

Re: Gas lift for chair

We live in a throwaway world. Regrettably it's cheaper to buy new than source parts and mess around trying to repair.

However a number of the cheap chairs that are sold cut price really are not that comfortable for lengthy periods. If buying, I'd want to at least sit on a chair first and see if it met my needs. Check out some of the office type specialist stores like Staples for a good selection.

I agree there Rob, the one I got from Ebuyer is ok for an hour then it starts to hurt the lower back and the backs of my legs, for the price you can't go wrong if they are for light use.

Indeed Rob - "use once, and chuck it"...

I quite like my chair - I just wish the gas lift thing could be replaced. Will have to have a look around da net!
